Local Scholarships
The Junior Auxiliary of Clinton awarded four scholarships to stellar Clinton High School graduates at their June, 2001, monthly meeting.

National Scholarships
The National Association of Junior Auxiliary (NAJA) awarded $32,767 to ten deserving recipients pursing graduate degrees. Since 1962, 363 individuals have been awarded approximately $634,000 in scholarships, enabling them to continue their education in fields of study which meet the special needs of children.
This graduate program is funded by donations from Junior Auxiliary chapters (like the Junior Auxiliary of Clinton), honorariums, memorials, and special gifts. Heather Newell of Clinton was a NAJA scholarship recipient.
Applications for NAJA scholarships are available online ONLY between September 1st and December 31st at the National Association of Junior Auxiliary website. Scholarships are awarded each April. Application (and re-application forms) are due on or before February 1st. Applicants are notified by the third week in April.
The NAJA Scholarship Committee awarded scholarships to the following finalists for 2001-2002:
Michael Chai (Cleveland, TN) -- $4,626
Michael will obtain his Masters in Counseling from the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga.
Sheila Counts (Conway, AR) -- $3,360
Sheila will obtain her Masters in School Counseling from the University of Central Arkansas, Conway, AR.
Ryan Hess (Mobile, AL) -- $3,000
Ryan will obtain his Masters in Educational Technology from the University of South Alabama, Mobile, AL.
Trisha Mainer (Morrilton, AR) -- $4,860
Trisha will obtain her Masters in Speech/Language Pathology from the University of Central Arkansas, Conway, AR.
Heather Newell (Clinton, MS) -- $3,567
Heather will obtain her Masters in Nursing as a Neonatal Nurse Practioner from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, MS.
Stephanie Nugent (Hattiesburg, MS) -- $2,433
Stephanie will obtain her Doctorate in Special Education from the University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg, MS.
Amy Outlaw (Monticello, AR) -- $3,000
Amy will obtain her Masters in Speech/Language Pathology from the University of Central Arkansas, Conway, AR.
Jackie Parker (Tupelo, MS) -- $1,135
Jackie will obtain her Masters in Gifted Education from Mississippi University for Women, Columbus, MS.
Sherri Randolf (Columbus, MS) -- $4,680
Sherri will obtain her Masters in Speech/Language Pathology from Mississippi University for Women, Columbus, MS.
